Septic treatment depends partly on microbial activity, but a properly functioning residential tank is not so fragile that ordinary cleaning automatically destroys it.
Avoid disposal use
Do not use the septic system as a disposal route for leftover chemicals, solvents, pesticides, paint, or concentrated cleaners. Follow local household-hazardous-waste guidance instead.

Permitting, inspection, setbacks, acceptable system types, professional licensing, and design requirements are controlled by state and local authorities.
